According to the Diving at Work Regulations 1997, in order to dive at work in the UK all divers must have a valid certificate of medical fitness to dive, issued by an HSE Approved Medical Examiner of Divers (AMED). The certificate of medical fitness to dive is valid up to a maximum of 12 months. Choose your date and select register. The next page will show available time lots.

You must have an ENG 1 (or an ML5 seafarer medical fitness certificate) to work at sea. ENG1 medicals can be booked on this page with our Diving Physician.

It is Oil & Gas UK policy that anybody working offshore should undergo medicals to ensure they are medically fit to work offshore. The maximum duration of this certificate is two years and examination is carried out with specific reference to the UK offshore industry. If you require an EBS ‘Fit to Train’ certificate please contact us at info@ddrc.org prior to booking your OGUK medical. The Fit to Train medical will incur an additional fee and cannot be carried out without prior booking.

The Diver Medic Technician course trains participants to administer advanced medical aid and life support skills for the management and treatment of diving casualties while at pressure and during saturation diving operations. DDRC is a hyperbaric medical centre, undertaking daily compressions in hyperbaric chambers.

The Diver Medic Technician course trains participants to administer advanced medical aid and life support skills for the management and treatment of diving casualties while at pressure and during saturation diving operations. The 5 day refresher course is open to those who already hold a valid DMT Certificate and enables renewal in line with IMCA's requirements for re-certification every 2 years. DDRC is a hyperbaric medical centre, undertaking daily compressions in hyperbaric chambers.

The Chamber Operator course is designed to introduce participants to the design, function and operation of hyperbaric chambers. It will enable individuals to safely operate chambers for therapeutic treatments and research purposes. The standard course duration is 5 days but each course is individually tailored to meet client requirements including international accreditation. The Basic Hyperbaric Medicine course serves as an introduction to hyperbaric oxygen therapy with a view to understanding the benefits and risks of HBO and conducting safe and efficient patient treatments under pressure. The Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First Aid) Regulations 1989 placed a duty on those in control of offshore installations, pipeline works, or any associated activities to make provision for persons to administer first aid and emergency treatment to those who become ill or injured at work. This is a UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved offshore medic training course which encompasses all aspects of the legal requirements, alongside the latest clinical thinking.

The Offshore Medic Refresher course is required every three years and includes training and assessment in CPR, first aid, AED, oxygen administration and intravenous/osseous techniques.

This is a Health & Safety Executive approved 4-day course that complies with the Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First Aid) Regulations 1989. Offshore personnel are trained to a standard where they can administer basic First Aid on their own and provide assistance to the Offshore Medic when necessary.

The course offers an overview of all subjects taught on the 4-day Offshore First Aid course and also introduces any new techniques, legislation or guidelines that have arisen since the delegate originally qualified.

This one day course will equip students with the skills and knowledge to be able to take immediate action upon encountering an accident or other medical emergency at sea.

Approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, this four day course is designed for seafarers who are designated to provide medical first aid on board ship in accordance with STCW Convention and Code 1978, as amended.

This five-day course is for seafarers designated to take charge of medical care on board vessels and those that must hold a recognised Proficiency in Medical Care or Updated Proficiency in Medical Care Certificate.

This three-day refresher course is for Masters and other personnel designated to take charge of medical care on UK or EU flagged vessels who are required to undertake updating training in Proficiency in Medical Care every five years.

This 2 day course is aimed at any doctor with an interest in diving medicine in the UK or abroad, as well as being one of the required qualifications for becoming a HSE Approved Medical Examiner of Divers (AMED). This course should be booked in conjunction with the RCSEd online Dive Medicine Module. Please note this course is delivered in English.

DDRC Healthcare partner with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) in providing the online Dive Medicine Module. This module covers the academic content required for the DMAC Level 1 and 2D course and is a prerequisite for these courses.

DMAC Level 2D - Medical Management of Diving Accidents and Illnesses (Diving Medical Physician)

This course is an approved First Aid at Work course in accordance with the Health and Safety Regulations 1981. All courses can include additional skills such as Paediatric First Aid, Oxygen Administration, use of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Hazardous Marine life Injuries. Courses can be tailored to individual, local and company requirements.

One day Emergency First Aid at Work

This course is for candidates whose FAW certificate is about to expire or has already expired but is within 28 days of the expiry date.

The course offers an overview of all subjects taught on the 4-day Offshore First Aid course and also introduces any new techniques, legislation or guidelines that have arisen since the delegate originally qualified.

A half day refresher in First Aid.

This is a Health & Safety Executive approved 4-day course that complies with the Offshore Installations and Pipeline Works (First Aid) Regulations 1989. A one day course presented by a qualified accredited Resuscitation Council ALS Instructor. Currently, this course is only available for group bookings. Please contact training@ddrc.org for more information.

e-ILS is a flexible way of learning skills in Immediate Life Support, and blends e-learning with face-to-face workshops. An e-ILS course provides a variety of skills, from managing a deteriorating patient, identifying causes and treating cardiac arrest, to improving abilities as both a team member and leader.
